Letter to A
Dear A,

John "Appleseed" Chapman's grave.
your remarks are well taken.
I must comment though that experience is key. By this I do not mean experience in the historical sense of remembering a long period of activities around this or that topic.
I mean it in the sense of doing rather than talking about doing.
So, for me, the whole thing hinges on just finding a little hook to get people involved.
I updated the front page of my site just now to make it much more simple to understand.
Really, it’s a no-brainer.
We don’t have to work hard to get people to see this.
It is (as Michael Linton says) as natural as breathing. And I don’t think people have forgotten how to breathe – yet.
Yes, my exchange is the same as yours, only a few days old. I have had no experience personally in an exchange. But I lived in Germany for about 15 years. There, there is a different attitude towards the whole idea, as alternative currencies never went out of style.
People do it on the basis of “neighbors helping neighbors” like the hour banks. That is probably why it all started (this time) in the UK. The Europeans just never “forgot” that this is what it’s all about.
We have a HISTORY here and we are forgetting it, because the whole country has been systematically dumbed down. Our forefathers fought to be free of these currency constraints. The whole thing was about that, not about the tea in the harbor.
So, in answer to your frustration, I don’t think it’s as hard as all that to convince people. I don’t think it’s really necessary. Just start working for someone. When they try to thank you, say, don’t pay me, don’t thank me, here’s the web address, go there and sign up. I feel certain they will get it. They will get it through their experience with us. So, I just go out and work, and I don’t expect anything. But I do the work as if I were doing it for my own mother.
That’s what I have been doing. I think it’s like the Bates method. You know Dr. Bates. He wanted to get people to stop wearing eye glasses and developed a lot of methods to strengthen vision. He said if you went back to wearing the glasses his methods would fail. Well, I think if we don’t ditch the dollars entirely, we will never develop this economy. I am committed to not using dollars if I can avoid it and mean to go to any extremes to do it.
That’s an article I have yet to write. How to make people understand that every dollar they spend is an enslavement? Just think about the hidden tax in there? Every dollar spent is supporting the military budget etc. Killing. That is their solution. So, I am not for spending or earning dollars.
That’s my take on it. Straight talk coming up…
If one gets free of this addiction and feeling that one cannot live without dollars, one will instantly know that others can do the same. Otherwise, one must remain in perpetual uncertainty.
It is too simple. That’s the problem. And, that’s the solution.
