"Consumer" what?

Fort_Wayne_1795 Sometimes a word starts to sound funny to the ear. Today that word was “consumer”. I just suddenly thought how orwellian a sound it has.

It started to sound like a word to describe a bunch of dumb donkeys who don’t know any better than to eat whatever is in front of them.

I suddenly felt as if the word was a very derogatory term. A consumer is someone who just passively opens up and takes whatever is being pushed at him. Just today I am not feeling happy that the American people are called “The Consumers”. There is no respect here. “Choosers” would be one thing, or “Buyers”. Well, of course those words don’t fit. What other word could you use? I think the only word used should be “Citizens”.

It sounds very much to me as if we’re all just stupid enough to take anything, let anything be shoved down our throats when you say “consumer”.

When the European Union got its currency and the Deutsche Mark receded into oblivion, I was living in Berlin. The official exchange rate was 1.95/1 DM/EUR. Roughly speaking, the Euro was worth twice as much as the D-mark. Effectively, if bread had previously cost 6 DM (organic), now it should cost around 3 EUR.

It was an outrage, however, to see that within a few months of the change the prices went back to the old level more or less. Effectively everyone had just received a salary cut of 50%. Now the bread which had cost 6-7 DM was up to 6-7 EUR. In restaurants the change was felt almost immediately. Who wants to print new menus? Notoriously, most small restaurants operate on very thin margins.

This is exactly what is in store for us in the near future. The dollar is soon to be replaced by the unified currency “Amero”, which has been in storage these last 10 years, just waiting for the right moment for the banking cartel to kill the dollar. When the time comes, you can be sure that the good old greenback will not just go silently into that good night. The cartels are planning to do the same thing in North America that they did in Europe. It will be another opportunity to squeeze more wealth out of the citizens of this region.

These changes are not accidents and there is no such things as “the natural business cycle”. These cycles are all very carefully manipulated. I am sure that what happened when I was in Germany was very minutely planned and orchestrated.
