A Plethora of Ideas…
There are so many ways this could be tackled.
After examining all the material offered and searching the web, I am sure you have already formed some opinions about the best way to approach this problem.
I lived in Germany for over 14 years. In Germany and generally in Europe, local currencies have never gone out of style. Every neighborhood in Berlin has its own “Tauschring” or community exchange group. Often they just call it “neighbors helpingĀ neighbors”.
People exchange goods and services amongst themselves freely. Trades are measured in units according to the local custom, either measured against the local currency or human work hours. Account keeping has gotten much easier in the last years due to the advent of the personal computer etc.
There are also about 61 regional currencies in Germany (search REGIOGELD, translate the page if you have to). These currencies are largely based on the Euro. Even though this puts them at a disadvantage, it still is a help to the local economy because it keeps money circulating in the local system.
A newer idea and unfortunately one that is rapidly being co-opted by the illegitimate world gov’t is ecurrency. This is where I think a great deal of progress could be made if people move quickly.
My idea is for a currency that is completely decentralized, personal and autonomous.
More on this idea at a later time…
